Also responsible for increased fuel economy is a new electromechanical speed-sensitive steering system AMG sports that are fed only when you move the wheel. The 2012MY E63 AMG goes on sale in the U.S. in the fall of 2011.

This eight-cylinder power named internally as the M157, is a mix of innovative high-tech components, such as a spray-guided gasoline direct injection, piezo injectors, all-aluminum crankcase, four-valve technology, the cam control, the 'air / water intercooler, the generator management and Eco Stop / Start. With a displacement of 5461 cc eight-cylinder engine develops a maximum power of 518 hp and 516 Nm of torque. Together with the optional AMG Performance package, these figures will increase 550 hp and 590 Nm Both versions have the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG to achieve excellent performance: acceleration from zero to 60 mph takes 4.4 seconds, and 4.3 respectively, and a top speed of 155 mph or 186 mph with the AMG Performance Package (electronically limited).

Improvements in output and torque that comes with the AMG Performance Package is primarily due to an increase in maximum boost pressure of 14.5 to 18.8 psi. AMG Speedshift MCT 7-speed sports saves fuel

AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports car has an important role in a sample consumption. Instead of the conventional torque converter, the MCT uses a compact wet start-up clutch. 2012 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG is also the ECO start / stop function, which manages the Controlled Efficiency ("C"), the method of sending and eight-cylinder engine turns off when the vehicle stops. ECO start / stop function can be enabled or disabled using the ECO button on the center console. When the method of sending a "C", the vehicle will always start in second gear. The system will also move in the past and avoid high engine speeds. The demand for the fuel pump and a generator to use the braking energy during deceleration to further increase fuel economy.

Although these improvements, the performance is not compromised due to the transmission facilities, "S" (Sport), "S +" (Sport plus) and "M" (Manual) to increase the agility of the car with a response time longer short, higher engine speeds, the sharper drive to exploit the full potential of the new AMG V8 twin turbo. In all three modes of transmission, the ECO is not only the Stop / Start system is down, but the engine management system to prevent some cylinders at full load. This power-managed carefully broken and the results of injection into faster gear changes and an exhilarating exhaust note - all assisted by REV auto-matching during the shift.

Many driver assistance systems in 2012, Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG to prevent accidents or lessen the severity, such as Active Blind Spot Assist, Lane Keeping Assist active. Blind Spot Assist actively warns the driver if a short-range radar sensors detect a collision when the vehicle to change lanes. If the driver ignores these warnings, and comes dangerously close to the vehicle in the lane first, Active Blind Spot Assist is missing the application of braking force the rear wheel on the opposite side of the vehicle, driven by a 3-stage ESP ®, yaw movement generated that corrects the car on the road.

Active Lane Keeping Assist with the 3-stage ESP ® and is activated when the driver accidentally moves on a continuous line to the right or the left lane. In this case, the Active Lane Keeping Assist brakes in front of the rear wheel of the vehicle and avoid crossing the line. The dashboard display warns the driver at the same time. If the center of the broken line is crossed, the system checks the electronic pulse generator that produces the vibration of the steering wheel for a while '- a guide for counter steering discreet but effective immediately. Before the braking system is missing, the steering wheel vibrates always give a warning.
