2011 Lexus LX 570 Review

Lexus introduced the all-new 2011 LX 570 full-size luxury utility vehicle at a press conference in New York International Auto Show 2007. The new third-generation LX features more technological advances to provide added power, luxury, safety, capacity, and both on-and off-road capability over the award-winning LX 470 it replaces.

"The new LX 570 is packed with luxury appointments and seamless technology our buyers expect the Lexus vehicle," said Bob Carter, Lexus Division group vice president and general manager. "Equally important, the new LX 570 sets a high water sign Lexus by providing more on-and off-highway abilities than ever, but to get the number of interior comfort, luxury and ride quality our customers expect. "

Performance improved power

LX 570 is equipped with a powerful 5.7-liter V8 that produces 381 horsepower, 110 more than the vehicle is to replace, and more than 400 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a new six-speed sequential-shift automatic transmission designed and built for large tasks. Both the engine and transmission are controlled and combined with sophisticated electronic management systems that help ensure optimal performance and low fuel consumption and emissions at all times. The LX is expected to ULEV II certification.

With its upgraded powertrain, along with a new chassis and suspension, the LX 570 has a towing capacity of 8500 pounds, an improvement of £ 2,000 from the previous model.

Suspension and innovative technologies

Important updates for the suspension and four-wheel full-time working to raise the LX to new levels of comfort and performance, on-and off-road. Height control electro-hydraulic four-wheel active suspension (AHC) and Adaptive Variable Suspension is quicker and allows a wider range of adjustment than the system it replaces. The new cross-linked system allows each wheel to react to the driving surface is in contact with and reacts to act opposite wheels. Using a valve at each corner and in the middle of the valve or the master grid suspension system detects the extension or deflection of each of the LX 570 20-inch wheels and counters that the proper response to the opposite wheels.

Intelligence is built on the LX 570 new chassis under the roll and suspension helps reduce body roll that over 30 percent. The system also controls ride height quickly, lowering the start of an average of two inches, and from there, and automatically returns to normal height when the vehicle begins acceleration.

For improved aerodynamics, the new AHC system lowers the vehicle less than an inch across and just over half an inch behind at highway speeds. Finally, when the transfer case is shifted into low range, the AHC system to lift the car about three inches to provide more information on travel-driving situations where chassis clearance is at a premium.

LX 570 also includes a new control function creep to increase the throttle while driving over rough or difficult. When a small range, Scan Control helps maintain appropriate low speeds allowing the driver to concentrate on driving the LX 570 for the desired path. Similar to cruise control to maintain vehicle speed, scan control activated a set of virtual locking differentials to minimize tire slippage and optimize chassis behavior. As control of the body is greatly improved, the possibility of bottoming the LX 570's driving surface is significantly reduced.

While the tracking control can be compared in some ways to cruise control, the driver constantly maintains control of the vehicle. Without canceling the Crawl Control mode, the driver can reduce vehicle speed braking, or alter the speed higher or lower by adjusting a speed selector.

The new LX 570 is also involved in the multi-terrain ABS braking system. This new technology is designed to help reduce stopping distances on slippery surfaces such as sand or gravel.

Among the many advanced technologies the LX 570 also offers a new blind spot monitoring function designed to be used in an urban environment, such as removing a garage. The cameras are located in the grille and under the passenger side rear view mirror, the driver can easily check hard-View sites by simply pressing a button on the dashboard and viewing the camera images the navigation screen.
